Fallout 3: How to make your followers invincible
Having you Fallout 3 followers die on you really sucks. So here's how you can make your Fallout 3 followers invincible.
1. Open the control panel with ~
2. Enter "SetEssential [character] 1" where [character] is the hex code for him/her/it.
3. Press enter
4. Save your game and try to kill your follower. He should only go unconscious if you did it right.
Character Codes:
Paladin Cross: 000156e5
Jericho: 00000a71
Charon: 000156f6
Dogmeat: 0006a772
Fawkes: 0003d34e
Clover: 000156a2
Butch: 00027f65
Once you've set your follower as an essential character, they will effectively become invincible followers.

SetEssential 0006a772 1
(then save the game and reload it.)You forgot that part
