Fallout 3: How to run faster
Since there are no vehicles in Fallout 3, I had to find a way to run faster. While surfing around on the forums, I found a way to run faster using the control panel (~).
To run faster in Fallout 3
1. Press the ~ to open the control panel
2. Enter "setgs fmoverunmult #" where # is the run multiplier.
3. The higher it is, the faster you'll run.
I personally use a run multiplier of 8 which is fast enough without being too fast. I've tried up to 100 with disastrous result. You run very fast, but you are also launched in the air by the slightest bump which result in you smashing into the ground and dying.
NOTE: Everyone gets the same multiplier, so your enemies will run faster too. Most enemies don't run, but it's really hard to hit those that do without the aid of VATS.
So there you have it. How to run faster in Fallout 3

i have played fo3 three days with no crash. Tried this trick and was really satisfied, then after five minutes it crashed. (on multiplier 10). Just a warning. Could be a coincidence. I will ofcourse try it again now, because I won't play fo3 if i have to run this slow all time.
just a note, i had to set this at the main menu with no game loaded and then load the game for it to work. thanks!
bad thing is, then you get used to running that fast and runnign normally is even slower
Increasing the multiplier (>=10) will increase your chances of a crash, particularly on lower spec machines. moving faster potentially means forcing the game to load/offload resources faster than designed, which results in a crash if your computer (or even the engine) can't keep up.
